Abstract

This study aims to highlight an alternative approach to teaching linguistic variation in the education of pedagogy teachers. To this end, this discussion presents bibliographic research based on variationist Sociolinguistics, with an emphasis on the Pedagogy of linguistic variation, following theoretical perspectives of authors who have worked in this area such as Alkmin (2005), Bortoni-Ricardo (2004), Faraco (2008), and Lyons (1982). In this research, an analysis exercise is conducted on the textual genre of Comic Books (Comics), with the purpose of showing future pedagogy teachers an alternative for teaching and learning linguistic variation in the classroom context. This discussion aims to provide reflections on the need for pedagogical practices that consider linguistic diversity.
