A CRISE NOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DE 1929 E AS TEORIAS ECONÔMICAS EMPREGADAS

We have evolved in the way we think about the economy, but we have evolved through mistakes and successes, this can be seen in the 1929 crisis in the United States, where the rulers prior to the crisis adopted a very liberal theory, based on Adm Smith’s theory, where the economy alone it must self-regulate, thus, with this thought, the greatest economic depression ever seen by society was generated at the end of 1929. But by changing the government, and with applications of bolder economic theories, in the sense of intervention, the North American government was able to leave the depression in the past and turn the page. This article studied the antecedents and consequences of the 1929 crisis, the main economic theories in relation to the North American economy, the methodology used in this research and, finally, the final considerations.
