INTERMODALITY AND MULTIMODALITY IN THE URBAN CONTEXT

Abstract

Intermodality and multimodality in the urban context are directly linked to the daily lives of companies, workers and families, who use some type of transport in all forms, be it road, rail, water, air and others. These means of transport, or modes of transport, are responsible for all the logistics of cargo, people, deliveries, from commercial services to leisure services, providing greater freedom to negotiate values and deadlines, increasing competitiveness in their sectors, greater flexibility to choose the transport operation that will take place and greater dynamics in complying with the agreements signed for the appropriate transport works. Each and every use of transport requires planning and control, in our daily lives, for example, whether it's going to the market on a rainy day when it's not possible to walk, or even choosing to go by bike to the hairdresser in a sunny day to avoid wasting fuel, therefore, for this article we will analyze the appropriate means of metropolitan transport in Maringá, Paraná, for going from a residential address to the Cidade Verde University Center – UniCV.
